Do you Know what PCB Assembly is?

Printed circuit boards or PCB are pretty omnipresent in the world of electronics. In every electronic device, you use or you can see PCB is there. However, most of the people often use electronic devices without understanding the technology behind them. in this article, we are going to share the full concept of PCB assembly. The design, components, construction, and applications all are connected to each other.

What is PCB?

PCB means a printed circuit board is a small green chip that covered in lines. At the center of the chip there is a copper part which is made of copper lines, fiberglass, and other metal parts. The boards are stick together with epoxy and merged with a solder mask. The mask is present at the green part of the chip.

The Fundamental Set-Up of a PCB

PCB assembly goes through different imminent stages, including solder paste, pick and place of the elements, soldering, inspection, testing. There are different stages in the PCB assembly process including adding solder paste to the board, pick and place of the components, soldering, inspection, and test. All these procedures are essential to make the highest quality product.

  • Solder Paste-  Solder paste is required on the places where Solder is present. It is usually used in the component pads. The paste is attached to the solder screen and it helps to run the PCB nicely. Its PCB is incorporated on the board while rolling it appropriately along with the screen. A runner is moved across the screen clutch and a small amount of solder paste passes through the holes in the screen and placed onto the board.

  • Pick and Place- when the solder paste added to the board and the board is ready to work the picking and placing process starts. Here a machine that loaded with reels, picks the apparatus from the reels or other slot machine and places them onto the accurate position on the board. The apparatus placed onto the board is set in place by the pressure of the solder paste. This is adequate to keep them in the right place on the board.

  • Soldering- After the assembling is done, it is now the time to pass the soldering test. There is something called a wave soldering. If that is done, we don’t need the soldering paste to fix the board, because the solder is already provided by the wave soldering machine.
  • Inspection and test- The automatic visual inspection is a far more feasible solution in the next step. The available inspection machines are used to inspect boards and detect broken or damaged joints, mislaid components, and under some occurrence the incorrect component. It is compulsory to test electronic products before delivery. There are quite a few ways to test the products.

PCB assembly is one of the most important services by Intrepid Source. They use methods to produce an integrated chip having high efficiency at a lower cost. A number of complex methodologies take place while making electronic devices. 2D designing, 3D prototype creation and then the automatic testing make their products perfect for the industry. Many small, medium and even multinational companies rely on Intrepid Source. Intrepid has been serving them for quite a few years with full satisfaction.
